THE BEST OF SOUTHWEST MINNEAPOLIS — brought to you by the Lynnhurst Neighborhood Association (LYNAS)
Thursday, August 3
Lynnhurst Community Center (south of 50th St)
The weather report for tomorrow is not looking good (all day rain and temps in the 60s). We’ve made the hard decision to move as much of the festival that we can indoors to the Lynnhurst Community Center.
We are very lucky in Lynnhurst that our community center is one of the largest in the MPRB system with a gym and several large spaces. This gives us the option of continuing with the festival, just in a slightly scaled back version.
We will still have pizza, hot dogs, ice cream, cookies and cold drinks. Wyn 65 food truck (lots of fried chicken options) will be there right outside the front door. Wholesum Kitchen (smoothies and juice) will unfortunately not be able to join us and we’re still waiting to hear about the mini-donuts (they sound good on a cold day!).
We will have two inflatables in the big gym, along with carnival games, a free play area, a magic show at 7:30, and a couple of other sport related kid activities. Due to the rain, we’ve had to cancel the antique fire truck rides. Wristbands will be reduced to $5.
There will still be lots of community groups, business representatives and political candidates to visit. And our popular raffles will be there waiting for you to buy a chance to win some GREAT prizes from local businesses.
We’ll have greeters in place to help you find what you’re looking for- please come down to join us and your neighbors celebrate another year in this AWESOME neighborhood.
