Welcome to Lynnhurst

THE BEST OF SOUTHWEST MINNEAPOLIS — brought to you by the Lynnhurst Neighborhood Association (LYNAS)

Lynnhurst Gives on December 2

10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Sat., Dec. 2
Lynnhurst Community Center

Take a break from pre-holiday stress and spend some quality time with your neighbors in Lynnhurst. Drop by the community center with a donation (see more below), see what’s going on with your neighbors, talk with a LYNAS Board Member and let your kids blow off some energy in a bounce house or be creative with some art activities. We’ll have coffee, hot chocolate and some treats to keep our spirits bright. Stay the whole time, drop in for an hour or run in to say hello and drop off a donation. We’ll be there waiting for you.

New This Year: Gingerbread Houses! Lynnhurst Park has a long standing gingerbread house decorating activity that is a highlight of the year for many families, but registrations are already full for the year. We will have an additional 20 houses and supplies available on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED basis. We will ask for a minimum $10 donation to Joyce Food Shelf rather than a participation fee. This is a parent/child activity, so please plan to do this fun activity together!

We are partnering with three outstanding local groups that could use our help: Joyce Uptown Food Shelf, Ready for Success and Washburn High School Academic Boosters. We ask that you bring a donation of goods or a monetary contribution to one or all of these great organizations and take a moment to talk with volunteers to hear firsthand about the work they are doing in Minneapolis.

Suggested donations:

Joyce Uptown Food Shelf: All toiletries (soap, deodorant, shampoo, razors, feminine hygiene products, etc.), non-dairy shelf stable milks, canned meats (tuna, salmon, chicken, etc.), salty, non-nut nutritious snacks (sunflower seeds, sesame sticks, etc.) and healthy fruit leathers for lunches … please keep lower sugar in mind.
