The Lynnhurst neighborhood encompasses approximately 120 square blocks in southwest Minneapolis. Minnehaha Creek bisects the neighborhood and Lake Harriet forms part of the northern boundary. About 80% of the housing in Lynnhurst was built before 1940 and ranges from compact bungalows to large, architect-designed dwellings.
Located within Lynnhurst are Burroughs Community School, Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, and Temple Shir Tikvah. Lynnhurst Park is a major recreational feature of the neighborhood with ball fields and courts and the Lynnhurst Community Center houses meeting rooms and a gymnasium.
